ABOUT
Often, life’s challenges throw us off our course.
We struggle with uncertainty and insecurities, leaving us feeling discouraged and stuck in indecision.
These struggles, I refer to as the tides of life, are endless and sometimes make us feel as though we are drifting with no direction and not a ‘land-ho’ in sight.
Do you feel like you’re drowning in the rip currents we call life?
Or maybe you feel like you’re drifting with no direction.
I was there unable to cope with the currents or struggles of life. I was going in one direction and then, storms took me off course. While trying your hardest, you may find yourself treading water.
I'm so glad you’re here!

By the time I was five years old, I had traveled and moved across both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
I grew up as a military kid. The middle sibling of three. As a child I loved arts and crafts, swimming, Girl Scouts, camping and dancing. After living in Hawaii for most of high school, I ended up in Carbondale, Illinois where I worked as a lifeguard at Southern Illinois University and earned a B.S. in Environmental Engineering. I married my fluid dynamics teacher, Dennis, and we have been married for 40 years!!!
I had a successful 25 year career in environmental protection, water resources, erosion and sediment control, floodplain and stormwater management. Did I mention I love water!!?
Getting elected to a Georgia State position, in 2000, as a Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor and serving for 16 years was definitely a high point in my career. Being one of five River Hero’s in the USA in 2005, receiving the National Water Resources Manager of the Year Award and numerous Adopt-a-Stream contributions were accolades I am also proud of.
I love being a leader and have a growth mindset. I love learning. God wired me to be positive, connect, relate and include others, be strategic and believe with God anything is possible.
GO BACK
Despite my successful career in environmental protection and water resources management on the outside I was trying to heal wounds of my past on the inside.
I spent a lot of years asking myself, is it me? I also spent (and still do) time regularly talking with a professional counselor. I often felt unloved, abandoned and unsure of myself. You can read my book, “Better Things Are Yet to Come” to learn more about my feelings of abandonment and how I overcame family trauma.
When God placed the seed in my heart in 2018, to write down my past and be free, I said no way. It was not until 2023, when my granddaughter asked me, "Nana, what was your life like growing up in Hawaii?”, that I finally embraced writing down my story.
Each generation is called to share their “stones of remembrances” in order that future generations will understand what God has done.
I deeply wanted to let go of my past and embrace fully who God created me to be. Out of the writing of the book came full healing and the confirmation to the next season to help you be all that God created YOU to be too.
If we spend all of our time looking back, then we will not completely embrace what God has in front of us. I wrote my book to give others hope, share all the blessings that God has given to me and became a Life Coach to help others become a better version of themselves.
GO BACK
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV
MY book
One day my granddaughter Lilly asked me, “Nana, what was your life like growing up in Hawaii?”
That question planted the seed for me to be able to write down my life story so that my grandchildren would know what God has done for me!
My book tells the story of growing up but more importantly it represents a “stake in the ground” of all the healing I have received. It represents an ability to move forward and stop looking at the past.
After years of counseling and processing grief of abandonment, belief of feeling unloved and insecure in who I am I began to look in a different mirror.
Cost per book is $14.99 plus shipping & handling. You do NOT need a PayPal account to purchase the book.
